| After
I met Bono for the first time in May 2004 I put the best
photograph everywhere, in every room in the house, had coasters
made for the conservatory, its my screensaver on the computer,
it is the picture on my phone etc etc and then I decided
to have a bag made with it. |
|

It has been greatly admired in various places in my hometown
of Stockport,but its first trip to a U2 related event was
when the U2 tribute band ZU2 played the Empire Theatre in
Liverpool. We went late afternoon and met up with the Hull
Girls and also Melbourne Mermaid (Mandy) who some of you
may know from the poplemon site. We had a great night, but
before the show Mandy and I went into the bar and suddenly
there was this girl screaming "oh my god, oh my god,
I've never seen anything like it!" so of course everyone
turned round and there was silence whilst I explained how
I had met him etc etc. |

| Everyone
on this site who has met him must also have experienced
people's amazement when you show them evidence as he is
such a high profile person you don't just bump into him
on the street - if only they knew the lengths some of us
have gone to meet him!!!!!!!
We stay regularly
at The Clarence and became friends with the General Manager,
Robert van Eerde, who has now sadly moved onto manage
a hotel in Miami. He thought the bag was hilarious and
every time I entered the Octagon Bar he would start telling
the guests about it!

When
Gavin Friday came out of Claridges on Sunday the first thing
he said was "look at that bag" and after having
coffee with Bono he obviously told him about it as when
he arrived he said "aarrhh the bag" before he
proceeded to deface it! I wanted him to write on the back,
but no of course Bono has to be different and wrote on the
front "Bono, the bag ..." and then proceeded to
draw sunglasses over my eyes!! I shrieked and said "what
are you doing" it was my immediate reaction and he
looked straight at me and said "I am turning you
into me"!!!!
